Ezekiel

Lesson 3

SIN & PUNISHMENT
Read: Ezek. 3:15-27

  1. What had Ezekiel been doing for 7 days when the word of Jehovah came to him?

  2. What had God made Ezekiel to be?

  3. See 2 Sam. 18:24-27 and Isaiah 21:6-7 and describe the job of the watchman.

  4. If Ezekiel failed to warn the wicked man, what would the consequences be for them and for Ezekiel as well?

  5. If Ezekiel warned the wicked, but the warning wrought no change on the part of the wicked, what would the consequences for him and for them?

  6. What can you say about Ezekiel's responsibility for the righteous man who turned from his righteousness?
  1. Do we have a similar responsibility today? (cf. Gal 6:1-2)

  2. Why does God say, "and I lay a stumbling block before him" (Ezek. 3:20)? (cf. 1 Cor 10:13, James 1:13-14)

  3. Where was Ezekiel told to go in 3:22?

  4. What did he see there?

  5. Who is the "they" and "them" of 3:25? (cf. 4:8) And were these literal, physical bands? (cf. 4:10-12)

  6. At the times that Ezekiel did speak, who was actually speaking?
