  1. Who was Belshazzar? What office did he hold and how was he related to Nebuchadezzar? (For the last part of this question, you will need to look at some external source that will explain what it is known from history. A good Bible Dictionary, or Bible Encyclopedia might help. Or you might check a commentary on Daniel. If you don't have access to any of these, don't worry about it, we will go over it in class.)

  2. What golden and silver vessels did Belshazzar use to drink out of at the feast?

  3. What did Belshazzar see that caused him to panic?

  4. Put the following three phrases into three phrases of your own words:

    "The king's countenance was changed in him"

    "the joints of his loins were loosed"

    "his knees smote one against another"

  5. What all did he promise to give to the man who could interpret the writing?

  6. Why did Belshazzar say that whoever interpreted the writing would be made the third ruler in the kingdom rather than the second ruler?
